Manzil

Manzil is a listing platform for buying and selling safe and vetted premium property in Pakistan. It isn’t limited to whole properties, and additional features on the site let users search for and apply to become roommates.

I worked as a freelance designer to craft a brand identity, set up the information architecture of the website based off of conducted user research, and designed and prototyped the web and mobile versions of the site, designing over 90+ screens.

The design objective was to create a sleek and clean product that would provide an efficient and clear experience.

Building Manzil

“Manzil” is an Urdu word that translates to destination. The platform is meant to help users find a new home, but it is also meant to be an efficient service that allows them to get from point A to point B through an effective process.

The target audience is the upper and upper middle class in Pakistan, those who are able to rent at a higher price point and those who own properties. Keeping this in mind, there are a few user problems that would need to be solved:

  1. Reliability — solved through transparent property verification processes, user verifications

  2. Navigation — solved through clear and concise menus and call to action buttons

  3. Processes — simple multi-step forms that fit on a single page

User Journeys

Manzil has two different modes: one for the tenant and one for the landlord.
The processes and available features would be different for both of these modes, which meant that two different user journey maps had to be created.

I tried to limit the amount of pages and the information on each page so users would not be hindered to rent, buy or sell. As information has to be accurate and reliable, I wanted to make it as easy as possible to fill out forms, set up their profile, and search properties.

Select Screens

I designed over 90 screens for the website; here are a select few.
